User:Okeyes (WMF)
I am a contractor for the Wikimedia Foundation; the Community Liaison, Product Development. My job is to ensure that, when designing features, the Foundation takes the needs and perspectives of editors into account. I've been editing for around six years as User:Ironholds.
Along with bringing an editorial perspective to the Foundation, I also work on the engagement our Engineering Department does with contributors. If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas in relation to Engineering's projects, I'm always happy to help.
I can be found on irc.freenode.net as "Ironholds" in the channels #wikipedia-en and #wikimedia-office if you want to talk to me; you can also email me at okeyes@wikimedia.org
This is my staff account and is considered separate from my personal account, Ironholds. Edits here are made in my professional life, edits there in my personal one.
Work
[edit]At the moment I'm working on:
- The Article Feedback Tool, Version 5 – a new way for readers to provide feedback and help indirectly contribute to our content.
- New Page Triage – a tool to make the process of New Page Patrol better for both patrollers and new editors
These two projects take up pretty much all of my time at the moment, but hopefully I'll be able to expand my "portfolio" soon enough :). This interface is gratuitously stolen from Brandon, a stand-up guy who does not endorse intellectual property thievery (but does endorse you buying him scotch. You really should, too – he's great).
