Wikidata for dummy wikicommon taxologists

Steps that can be followeb starting from a taxon category or gallery:

• Step 1: look at the bottom left of your page. Do you see below the interwiki links (even if there are no interwiki) "add links" ?
  • If yes, then a wikidata item is already associated to your taxon category or gallery. Go to Step 5
  • If no, there is no such association. Go to Step 2
• Step 2: add a {{VN}} to your category or gallery. It should look like this:

• Step 3: click on wikidata item
• Step 4: In the destination page (a search page in wikidata), find 2 items: the one that should be associated to your taxon's category and gallery.
• Step 5: Open in 2 news tabs the 2 items you find (sometimes there will be only one or none)
• Step 6: In these 2 items, set the properties listed in the next chapter

What commons link should you provide

• Systematic creation:
  • If the Wikicommons Category for your taxon does not exist => create it (or at least behave as if it exist)
  • If the Wikidata Item for your taxon's article does not exist => create it (or at least behave as if it exist)

• Association rules:
  • If both Wikidata items and both Wikicomnons category/article exists => Associate Wikidata Category<->Wikicommons Category + Wikidata Article<->Wikicommons Article
  • If any wikidata of Wikicommons is missing: Associate Wikidata Article <-> Wikicommons Category
