Template:UL2.0 spelling/style in the various languages
[edit]User Tacsipacsi wrote me, that "{{lcfirst:}} should not be used for texts that may not be in English—for example, “rechte-Logbuch” is totally incorrect in German, it should be “Rechte-Logbuch”, even in the middle of a sentence".
All is OK, but, for example, Russian is not English, and in Russian a mixture of words starting with lowercase and uppercase letters does not look like good style. As I understand, more many other languages this is also.
We is gathering internationalized applicable messages from many various source. And we can't control the form of messages in these sources. But it would be foolish to refuse auto-translation on this basis.
May be We will be checking {{int:Lang}}
for (un)using {{lcfirst:}}

Userlinks template Zoo
[edit]By way, I seen, that UL2.0 template is not described in their own documentation - does not contain describing use cases and not included in the table Commons:Link templates/User and user talk links.
Also, such a lot of similar templates for similar targets looks strange:
- Some is based currently on the {{UL2.0}} ({{User2}}, {{User3}}, {{User6}}, {{User7}})
- some is still based on the {{User-multi}} and Module:UserLinks ({{User21}})
- some is still based on the {{U/main}} ({{Ut}}, {{Uw}}, {{Uwt}}, {{Un}})
- {{Userlist}} is based on Module:Iteration
- all others is realized separately ({{U}}, {{Ud}}, {{Uc}}, {{User8}}, {{User13}}, {{User14}}, {{Userlinks}}, {{Admin}}, {{UserSUL}}, {{BotUser}}, {{Newbot}}, {{CheckUser}})
I don't really understand the current state of this "template zoo". {{User-multi}} as based on LUA module is look more progressively...
