I spend a fair bit of time thinking about how we use images to represent things on Wikipedia, and how it's often misguiding and problematic. This is a page for me to think about how I represent places I visit to the world, mainly taken from my two Instagram accounts, @gakannjan and @johanevjonsson, where I've posted my mobile snapshots since autumn 2015. It's not really the same thing as when we use photos in Wikipedia article since they don't serve the same purpose as encyclopedic illustrations, but as they're typically uploaded to Commons and occasionally used in articles as well, it's still relevant. There are two kinds of galleries. tagged means the images were posted by @gakannjan, where they're tagged with a name of a city, town or village. untagged means they were posted somewhere else and not tagged, and thus not to the same degree representations of a specific place beyond what you see in the picture.
Images from some countries (as of writing: Italy, Iceland, Lativa, South Africa and Namibia) have been posted on Instagram but not here, because of Freedom of Panorama restrictions.
This is the page for non-Swedish photos. For Sweden, see User:Julle/Representation/Sweden.
