More about Jean Paul HARELIMANA

Jean Paul HARELIMANA finished his Bachelor’s degree in National University of Rwanda, in the faculty of Arts Media and Social sciences (FAMSS), in the Department of Modern Languages, Option of Arts and Publishing. He continued his studies and now have a Post Graduate in Education in University of Kigali. He has also Diploma (A1) in Early Grade Reading.

In February 2012, he started teaching career in secondary schools where he taught languages (in Languages combinations) and other related subjects until September 2018. I have experience in teaching adult learners and children.

Furthermore, I have been teachers trainer at school, sector and district levels where he used to train his fellow teachers on how to integrate and use ICT and English in teaching and learning process. In partnership with Rwanda Basic Education Board and Hartford University, He attended yearly workshops on Teaching English Language as a medium of instructions from 2015 up to 2018. These workshops aimed also on new methods of teaching using Competence Based Curriculum-CBC.

Meanwhile,Jean Paul HARELIMANA has been nominated as Kiswahili examiner in southern province in the program called Carrefour Umurezi. He has been also National trainer in a non-governmental organization called USAID Soma Umenye Project where they train Lower primary teachers to teach according to the new methodologies on current use.

In education, he got different certificates in early childhood education, education, becoming a confident trainer, conflict resolution and many more.

In October 2018, he worked in Rwanda Polytechnic where he served as academic librarian at RP-Musanze College from 2018 until January 2021.

After 2021, He worked with VSO/BLF (BLF: Building Learning Foundation) as sector learning facilitator where we used to facilitate and train primary teachers in teaching Maths and English professionally. He facilitated also School headmasters and Sector Education officers to fulfil their duties especially in online courses known as Continuous Professional development (CPDs).

In 2022, Jean Paul HARELIMANA became a head-teacher of secondary school.

He is now working in Rwanda Cultural heritage academy, in its unit of National Library and Archives, where I am working as Preservation and Conservation Officer.

For the personal and Professional growth, Jean Paul HARELIMANA managed to participate in different course on Executive Leadership Development in Heritage Management Workshops like: Engaging Communities in Cultural Heritage, Introduction to Heritage Interpretation for Site Managers and Project Management for Heritage Managers organized by Heritage management Organization-HMO.

He is also a member of Wikimedia user group in Rwanda where he participates in different projects like: wikicommons, wikisource, Wikipedia, wikimonuments,…

Jean Paul was born on June 12th, 1985 in Burera District, Northern Province. He now resides in Musanze District, the same province.
