I'm James from Melbourne, Australia. I have been editing wikis in some shape or form since 2005, so have a plethora of experience. I opened my current Wikipedia account back in 2007 and started contributing to Commons in the months following that.
I am an avid photographer, but not so much of a professional photographer. Any photos I do take will be on my 12MP Samsung digital camera or my 8MP HTC Windows Phone. Photography interests include sights and landmarks from my travels, localities through Melbourne and transport-related items.
In addition to this, many of my edits will be utilising the fantastic Flickr upload bot as I attempt to find free images of far away places for Wikipedia and Wikivoyage. Other contributions will be organisational and maintenance-related, including fixing categories with HotCat, tagging files and correcting image names using my filemover rights. Some of the areas I'm focussing on in this respect including the terribly messy Category:Bangladesh, Category:Travel maps for Wikivoyage, and renaming Category:Wikivoyage banners.
Many of the photos I upload here will be cropped 2100×300px versions of other great photos. These are used to annotate and decorate guides on Wikivoyage, and are preferred to be of high quality and beauty. More information about that project can be found at voy:Wikivoyage:Banner Expedition. Furthermore, I will often create Wikivoyage-style maps for use on that project, adapting from OpenStreetMap or other sourced. Please see my gallery for some of my contributions.
