There was recently a request to delete some of my photos. Why would somebody do such a thing without basic investigation and in this case a poor knowledge of photography. I have started my career as a war photographer in the SA special forces on the South West Africa Angola border in 1979 and has since then built a portfolio of more than 500,000 good images using various format analogue and digital cameras, I upload images with sizes not exceeding 1024 x 768 pixels (a popular screen resolution) therefor arguing that my pictures resolution is inconsistent is stupid! All photos on my page - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Hein_waschefort - were taken by me over many years, some with analog cameras, I thought it a good gesture to upload photos regularly which I no longer use (I appreciate Wikipedia and thought it a way to contribute). After reading the request for deletion of some of my work I considered removing all my images, however there appeared some light in this tunnel:
Zaian reported: "See http://heinwaschefort.com/. This seems to be a bona fide donation of images by a professional photographer from his portfolio. The reasons given for the deletion request, "inconsistent resolutions, missing EXIF/different cameras", are all easily explained by cropping, editing, or taking the images over a long period.
