The Dam Diner, so named because of the nearby Moss Bluff Lock and Dam. The diner has been a fixture in the area since the 1960s. In the 1950s it was a combination convenience store and filling station.

Rhesus macaque/monkey. They were released in the area in the 1930s to bolster tourism. There were enough to form a breeding population, and they have been in the area ever since. I've heard that some have migrated north over the years and have been seen as far away as Jacksonville.
