Circular phalera having the representation of a horseman with shield. Part of the Dacian Silver Hoard of Lupu, 1st century BC. Found at Lupu, Alba, Romania in 1978. It has military and religious significance, being a representation of a God of War, possibly related to the Thracian Rider.

The Celtic Helmet from Satu Mare, Romania, an Iron Age raven totem helmet, dated around 4th century BC. Made of bronze and iron, by forging and striking. A very close replica from the National Military Museum, Romania. The original is kept at the National Museum of Romanian History. A similar helmet is depicted on the Gundestrup cauldron, being worn by one of the mounted warriors (detail tagged here). See also an illustration of Brennos wearing a similar helmet.

Milliarium of Aiton, a Roman milestone discovered in Aiton commune, near Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The milestone, is dating from 108 AD and shows the construction of the road from Potaissa to Napoca, by demand of the Emperor Trajan. It indicates the distance of ten thousand feet (P.M.X.) to Potaissa. It is the first epigraphical attestation of the settlements of Potaissa and Napoca in Roman Dacia

The Battle of Posada (November 9-12, 1330) in Chronicon Pictum. The Basarab I of Wallachia's army ambushed Charles Robert of Anjou, king of Hungary and his 30,000-strong invading army. The Vlach (Romanian) warriors rolled down rocks over the cliff edges in a place where the Hungarian mounted knights could not escape from them nor climb the heights to dislodge the attackers.
