Christopher Justin Clayton was born to Tanya and Bobby Basden on February 25,1988. He later took on his sister's last name "Clayton", when his sister was born on July 23, 1991, and is now known as Christopher Justin Clayton. Clayton in his life went through many battles in his family growing up and faced a rough childhood. At the age of 16, his mother gave up parents gave up parental rights and his grandparents Dr. Larry and Rheta Parsons took on the role of raising Clayton. He "courted" a young lady by the name of Christina Elliott and made the proposal in Panama City Beach, Florida on June 26, 2009. The wedding date has not been announced. He is involved with Campus Ministries under Christy Hicks, the campus minister at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville. Clayton announced Tuesday November 17, 2009, that he would be running for office of Mayor as the only Republican Nominee of a small town right outside of Cullman, Alabama called "Garden City" against current Democrat Mayor Hardon Davis. He is running to make a difference in the city's revenue and to rasie the salaries of the hardworkers of the city such as the clerk and firefighters, that work so diligently hard to keep Garden City and the residence safe. Clayton also wants to rebuild a Police Station for Garden City considering that Blount County Sherriff's Department takes about 20 - 30 minutes to respond to an emergency situation. He is running against the current incumbent mayor of Gardne City - Mr. Hardon Davis. Christopher Clayton graduated from Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama in December of 2009. He will be pursuing another degree at which Clayton has not announced as of this time. Clayton like the Sarah Palin strategy. "As mayor, I shook up the good ol' boy system—had to kinda take that on. I reminded people that government is not always the answer, in fact, too often government is the problem. So here's what we did: we got back to the basics and I put the local government there back on the side of the people. I eliminated taxes on property; on personal property. I eliminated taxes on those small business inventories; this was hurting small business. We took that tax away. Property taxes were way too high. So every year I cut rates for six years in a row and those reforms worked and our communities soared. We started takin' off." Clayton currently has 3 homes, one in Birmingham, Bessemer, and Garden City, Alabama. At this point in time, Clayton has no intentions of running for Mayor of Birmingham. Clayton is not interested in "Big Government", but moreless "Small Government" to create revenue for a small "Village" as Claytton likes to call Garden City. Clayton intends to run this campiagn strong and hard. Clayton and his Campaign Manager and Staff will begin campaigning in October and NOvember of 2010 and throughout the entire year of 2011. Election will take place on September 8th, 2011. As of Law, Clayton must have 50% + 1 vote to be elected as the youngest Mayor in the history of Garden City. Christopher Clayton is Pro-Life and does not believe in abortion. Clayton admires former President John F. Kennedy, President Ronald Reagan, current Secretary of State- Hillary Clinton, and President George W. Bush.
