Optare Versas have an epecially long front overhang, and this image shows the bus swinging out of the bus station and grounding the front out on the ramp. You can see the gouge in the road left from other times this happens. When it happened, there was a very loud scrape.

English: Arriva The Shires 3133 (M713 OMJ), a Volvo B6/Northern Counties Paladin, leaving High Wycombe bus station into Bridge Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on route 39. Route 39 is Orange Route, part of the High Wycombe Rainbow Routes network, and should have been operated by the other Optare Versa (2401 was in service), however, 2402 was seemingly unwell in the depot.
-
English: Arriva The Shires 3138 (L922 LJO) (left) and 3139 (L923 LJO), both Volvo B6/Northern Counties Paladins, in Arriva's High Wycombe bus depot. The buses had been sold, and were parked in "death row" waiting to be moved.

English: Arriva The Shires 3203 (R203 RBM), a Scania L113CRL/Northern Counties Paladin, leaving High Wycombe bus station into Bridge Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on route 32. Unfortunately, the car in the forground drove through a red light, and the bus driver's hand can be seen about to use the horn. Blue Route service 32 is part of the High Wycombe Rainbow Routes network, supported by Buckinghamshire County Council. When I visited High Wycombe, only one bus has been painted into Blue Route livery, so other buses on route 32 were in normal livery. However, a handfull of buses are now painted blue and in operation on the route.

The bus was wearing route branding for the Wycombe Connection, although the offside didn't carry much route branding compared to the nearisde, so the out-of-date branding wasn't visible.

The bus was wearing route branding for the Wycombe Connection. The livery was very outdated when this photograph was taken, the route to Aylesbury has become the 300, the routes to Reading the 800/850, the services to Chesham the 52/62 and the route to Maidenhead the 37.
-
English: Arriva The Shires 3214 (R214 GMJ), a Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer, leaving High Wycombe bus station into Bridge Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on route 305. Arriva no longer operates this route.
-
English: Arriva The Shires 3226 (V421 DGT), a Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer 2 MPD, leaving High Wycombe bus station into Bridge Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. It seems to be one route 32, if that's what the flopped over piece of paper in the windscreen says. This bus was owned by Arriva London, and seems to have moved to High Wycombe depot to run Transport for London contracted route U9, however is seen here on a High Wycombe town service.
-
English: Arriva The Shires 3331 (M782 PRS), a Volvo B10M/Alexander PS type, leaving High Wycombe bus station into Bridge Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. This bus came to Arriva through their acquisition of Sovereign (Blazefield acquired what was left of the Ribble operations, whom this bus was new to, and this bus later moved down south). Few of this type operated with Arriva, and this bus has now been sold.
-
English: Arriva The Shires 3482 (W482 YGS), a Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer 2 MPD, leaving High Wycombe bus station into Bridge Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on Red Route 33. This bus was the spare for others on Transport for London contracted route U9, however, the bus didn't meet TfL specifications and was painted into normal Arriva livery. Since then, the need for a spare became more apparent, and the bus was painted into London red livery again. When not in use on the U9, it seems to be used on Red Route 33, a High Wycombe town service, no doubt due to its livery. Red Route 33 is part of the High Wycombe Rainbow Routes network, supported by Buckinghamshire County Council.

English: Arriva The Shires 3841 (N621 FJO) (left), a Volvo B10B/Plaxton Verde, and (right) 5118 (G288 UMJ), a Leyland-bodied Leyland Olympian. Both are parked on "death row" at Arriva's High Wycombe depot, for buses with problems. 5118, being a rather elderly double-decker, has probably with withdrawn due to its age, and has since gone for scrap. Rather visibly, 3841 had been involved in a very serious accident with a motorbike. These Verdes seem to be cursed. Sister 3855 was repainted and was destroyed by fire soon afterwards, and 3841 was repainted and had a serious accident.
-
English: Arriva The Shires 3854 (N414 NRG), a Volvo B10B/Plaxton Verde, leaving High Wycombe bus station into Bridge Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on route 800. Despite routes 328 and 329 being replaced by routes 800 and 850, this bus still had 328 and 329 showing on its route branding. Most of the others had the old numbers removed.
-

English: Metrobus 202 (SN03 WKY), a Dennis Lance SLF/Plaxton Pointer 2, turning into The Broadway, Crawley, West Sussex, on route 100. This is an odd working, as part of the Fastway network, route 100 should be run with Fastway Scania OmniCitys. However, sometimes, normal buses have to be used, as seen here. Fortunately, route 100 does not use any busways, so the use of a non-guided bus does not mean they have to miss out the bus priority measures.

English: Arriva Guildford & West Surrey 5925 (M925 PKN), a Volvo Olympian/Northern Counties Palatine, turning left from Southgate Avenue into Station Way, about to take up route 398. This bus was at Tenderten depot, in another part of Arriva Southern Counties. However, following a contract loss, the depot closed, and this bus moved to Horsham to replace an older bus, 5801. However, Horsham depot was then sold to Metrobus. While the fleet of single-deckers moved to Metrobus with the sale, 5925 stayed at Arriva Guildford & West Surrey and briefly moved to Guildford depot, before settling at Cranleigh outstation for a newly won school contract. For additional details of this photograph, see File:Arriva Guildford & West Surrey 5925 M925 PKN.JPG.

English: Arriva Guildford & West Surrey 5925 (M925 PKN), a Volvo Olympian/Northern Counties Palatine, turning left from Southgate Avenue into Station Way, Crawley, about to take up route 398. Arriva sold Crawley depot to the Metrobus division of the Go-Ahead Group in the early 2000s. However, from Horsham depot, some Tesco shopper services and school route 398 (an extension of Horsham town route 98), continued to reach Crawley, so Arriva maintained a small presence in the town if you looked closely. However, in October 2009, they sold Horsham depot to Metrobus as well, and Arriva finally ceased to serve Crawley. For additional details of this photograph, see File:Arriva Guildford & West Surrey 5925 M925 PKN 2.JPG.

English: A bus stop in Southgate Avenue, Crawley. This is part of the Crawley Fastway guided bus system. The bus stop is served by Fastway route 20, which does not serve the town centre and bus station, instead using this stop a short walk away, to avoid a double run and speed up journey times. Unfortunately, this bus stop was closed for a long period in 2010, while utilities companies casually did road works in the bus lane. This meant the 20 couldn't stop anywhere near the town centre.
