Here is an overview of all successful de-adminship requests (table may contain some errors, provided as-is and WIP):

Link Year Initiator Reason Formality Removal consensus Resigned early Outcome
Commons:Requests and votes/Joymaster (de-adminship) 2007 Marcus Cyron seems like an admin that was uploading copyvios ✓[OK] 33/6 (85%)
Commons:Requests and votes/Stahlkocher (de-adminship) 2008 Polarlys admin went on a (revenge?) mass deletion spree ✓[OK] ✓[OK] 26/0 (100%)
Commons:Requests and votes/Gryffindor (de-adminship) 2008 Herrick haven't read the whole thing, but the request could probably have been aborted because various requirements were not met.   45/23 (66%) (1 own vote)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/Florent Abel (de-adminship) 2011 Jcb vote would ultimately probably have been a formality but I'm not convinced there was "consensus for removal" here either.     ✓[OK] 3/0 (100%)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/Abigor (de-adminship) 2011 Jcb could have been aborted, issues don't appear to have "been discussed with the admin in a civil way" and community support is also not fully clear. Jcb opening the request with a sentence that was clearly taken out of context, to be honest, more or less invalidated the request anyway. If there was sufficient proof for the allegations (I'd rather not dive into the case), the request would have been a formality.   12/2 (86%)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/Jcb (de-adminship 2) 2011 Saibo discuss with admin in a civil way..hmm     29/14 (69%)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/High Contrast (de-adminship) 2014 Odder socking admin ✓[OK] 33/1 (97%)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/JurgenNL (de-adminship) 2014 Jcb WMF wanted them desysopped ✓[OK] ✓[OK] 47/5 (90%) (1 moral keep)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/Russavia (de-adminship 2) 2015 99of9 globally banned by WMF ✓[OK] ✓[OK] 6/1 (86%)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/INeverCry (de-adminship) 2015 Odder "Considering INeverCry's apparent retirement, I'd think this request would be a formality" ✓[OK]   ✓[OK] 23/6 (79%)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/Axpde (de-adminship) 2016 A.Savin consensus, with 6 admins and 1 user supporting and only Axpde opposing it was pretty much a formality. The outcome was 20 remove and 8 keep, but one keep was Axpde and 3 more keep votes appear to come from meatpuppets. But when compared to the others, it's a relatively good request. ✓[OK] 20/8 (71%) (20/4)
Commons:Bureaucrats/Requests/Kanonkas (de-bureaucrat) 2016 Krd Nearly inactive admin gaming the system, request was a formality. ✓[OK] 25/0 (100%)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/H-stt (desysop) 2017 Jcb wheelwarring admin so it would be expected to be a formality, and if H-stt would have made a statement to say it won't happen again the desysop would probably have failed. Quite good request. 13/4 (76%)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/Daphne Lantier (desysop) 2017 A.F. Borchert INC sock ✓[OK] 68/0 (100%)
Commons:Administrators/Requests/Fanghong (de-sysop) 2018 Jon Kolbert wheelwarring admin who obtained adminship in 2005 when that much easier. Another formality. ✓[OK] ✓[OK]  25/0 (100%)
  • Herrick was the only initiator who was not an administrator.
  • 27% (4/15) of all de-adminship requests were started by Jcb.
