[edit]Why the message of this template recommends to use only CommonsHelper? There are other tools too. But CommonsHelper right now is broken: see a bug report and cleanup after CommonsHelper's transfer. --XXN, 09:59, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
- I reported this bug too, and I wish Magnus would respond faster. His tool is widely used and is breaking hundreds or possibly thousands of files.
- That said, in case it's not obvious from the history, I made the tool a long time ago before this was an issue.
- Do you have any better ideas? I don't know any tools which are of superior quality. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 00:05, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- As long as CommonsHelper is not an official WMF feature/tool, probably it shouldn't be promoted in a monopolistic manner, being the only one tool recommended in a user-warning message. Perhaps, the link from that message should point to Commons:Moving files to Commons (page may be extended with content from en:Wikipedia:Moving files to Commons). "FTCG (For the Common Good)" is a good transfer tool as well. And the new Fastily's "MTC!" is good too. XXN, 09:06, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- FWIW, both of those tools are far from perfect too. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 18:07, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

- FTR, something related to CommonsHelper: meta:2016_Community_Wishlist_Survey/Categories/Bots_and_gadgets#Improve CommonsHelper (Move-to-commons assistant). --XXN, 11:20, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
