This template provides descriptions (Spanish and English), categories, and enwiki links for categories containing media related to National Register of Historic Places listings in each of Puerto Rico's 78 municipalities.

The template automatically sets the following categories:

• Category:municipality, Puerto Rico (e.g. Category:Mayagüez, Puerto Rico) or Category:History of municipality, Puerto Rico (e.g. Category:History of San Juan, Puerto Rico)
• Category:National Register of Historic Places in Puerto Rico by municipality
• Category:National Register of Historic Places by city
