Template:Collective work
This is an image of a page or pages from a collective work such as a newspaper, magazine or encyclopedia that is in the public domain in its country of origin and in the United States. It is not known to contain any legible non-free content. However, the date of death of some of the individual authors is unknown, so some of the text or pictures may be non-free. Do not crop this image to extract selected content without first confirming that this content is in the public domain.
|
The Collective work template creates a warning message on page images from collective works such as newspapers, magazines, encyclopedias or anthologies that may include non-free content.
The template automatically sets the following categories: Collective works or Collective works of [Country]
Usage
{{Collective work |country= }}
The template should be included if any of the contributions in the page image, including text and images, may be non-free. This includes text or images where the author is not identified.
For a newspaper, {{Newspaper}} gives a more specific message.
If you are sure that all the content is free, e.g. because all the authors are known to have died more than 70 years ago, use the {{PD-collective-work}} template instead.
