Breslau City

[edit]

Having checked several historical documents and English language references the correct English language name for the city is still Breslau. It appears through what is known as modern day political correctness that there is an insistence that the Polish and therefore Slavic variant name for the city be used. This is actually very incorrect usage considering English is part of the Germanic family of languages and is not at all related to the Slavic family of languages. As a native English speaker I always refer to the city as Breslau as do nearly all my friends and work colleagues. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.101.142.177 (talk • contribs) 05:25, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Same for Danzig and Stettin, partially Cracow, only Warsaw remaining mostly unaffected. --Matthead (talk) 14:01, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
