Talk:Setophaga coronata
Is this page for Yellow-rumped Warbler (Setophaga coronata) or Myrtle Warbler (Setophaga coronata coronata)? Category:Setophaga coronata seems to be used for the former (as it should be), but this page seems to be used for the latter. There also is a Category:Setophaga auduboni, which should perhaps be renamed as Category:Setophaga coronata auduboni and reclassified as a subcategory of Category:Setophaga coronata. In addition, we may want to move some media from Category:Setophaga coronata to a Category:Setophaga coronata coronata, and from Setophaga coronata to a Setophaga coronata coronata. Also, interlanguage links don't seem consistent for Yellow-rumped Warbler vs. Myrtle Warbler, adding to the confusion. I made this edit earlier, but reverted it when I realized the issue was a lot more complicated. Is there a simple way to streamline all this and make it less confusing? Thanks. --Nandaro (talk) 22:43, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Nandaro - it's for Myrtle Warbler Setophaga coronata; the en:wiki pages are out-of-date, as the old Yellow-rumped Warbler was split (scroll 2/3 way down) a couple of years ago into 3 species, Myrtle, Audubon's and Goldman's Warblers. Part of the problem with the en:wiki pages is that the local bird authorities within the USA have not yet taken up the split, so there has been less pressure for updating there. - Thank you for your quick response. Commons is OK then. I'll revise the descriptions for my photo of one of these birds accordingly. --Nandaro (talk) 02:00, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
