transparent backgrounds
[edit]There seems to be a long standing tradition on Wikimedia Commons of making semi-transparent flag construction sheets that do block Media Viewer's checkerboard pattern. I am not sure who started it or why it was done. I just followed along and did the same; but after completing 90 construction sheets I am having regrets.
My last few construction sheets have two extra layers:
- an almost white layer (#fcfcfc) that covers the entire page (including the margins).
- a pure white layer (#fff) that sits behind the flag.
So far I have applied this to:
- File:Flag_of_Estonia_(construction_sheet).svg
- File:Flag_of_Mauritius_(construction_sheet).svg
- File:Flag_of_Slovakia_(construction_sheet).svg
- File:Flag_of_Trinidad_and_Tobago_(construction_sheet).svg
I plan to retrofit the existing files unless somebody has a compelling reason not to do so. MapGrid (talk) 05:14, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
