There seems to be a long standing tradition on Wikimedia Commons of making semi-transparent flag construction sheets that do block Media Viewer's checkerboard pattern. I am not sure who started it or why it was done. I just followed along and did the same; but after completing 90 construction sheets I am having regrets.

My last few construction sheets have two extra layers:

  1. an almost white layer (#fcfcfc) that covers the entire page (including the margins).
  2. a pure white layer (#fff) that sits behind the flag.

So far I have applied this to:
