Only one question: which countries have/do not have city flags? I know only one which does not: Finland, my home country. 82.141.127.5 15:59, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Just looked http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jersey_City,_New_Jersey and it does not have a flag. Then I googled if it has a flag, and the answer is yes it has. Now I'm wondering why it is not in that article? Is the only reason it has not been drawn to Commons? 82.141.125.215 03:09, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

The London Flag needs to be renamed.

The London flag is false. It is actually showing The City of London flag which is not the same as the flag of London (Which is nonexistent). --Madluke200 (talk) 16:39, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

This gallery is too large

The size of this gallery has reached around 250k bytes. It makes it unreadable and unmanageable; and it also takes a long time to load. It is like putting the whole encyclopedia in one single volume; you have to put down the huge book and flip through the pages. It should be either split into continents or keeping countries with numerous flags in separated galleries with only links to them. Xeror (talk) 20:49, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

@Alexphangia: What did you fix? The gallery size has not decreased but increased to over 260 KB now. Like I suggested, you need to break it into continuents or even countries in order to make it to a manageable size. Xeror (talk) 05:12, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

@Alexphangia: Then we need to fix all these galleries. Not only are the number of bytes large, the majority of the content consists of loading thousand of images also contributes to the long loading time as well as readability issue.

For this gallery, since English Wikipedia has already the useful structure (separate list for each continent), I suggest that we just move missing flags to the corresponding list in the English Wikipedia and remove this one.

For the historical flags, I would suggest that either breaking it by continent, or incorporating it into articles for the flag of individual country.

For the cultural flags, breaking it by peoples. For the political flags, breaking it by ideologies. Xeror (talk) 05:57, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

Alright, let's restart the whole gallery page all the down as reported w:Talk:List of city flags in Europe and w:Talk:Lists of city flags.

That means that This gallery should ONLY INCLUDE THE FLAGS OF CITIES not towns, municipalities, other types of populated places or Settlements. Alexphangia Talk 08:14, 27 August 2022 (UTC)

Brazilian city flags

There seems to be too much Brazilian city flags in this gallery, as it takes a very long time to scroll down past it. Culling settlements with a population less that 250,000 may be a good idea, but I would like the approval of someone else. Strenatos (talk) 02:19, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
