English: Routemaster bus RML2731 (reg. SMK 731F) was delivered to London Transport in October 1967. As with all RML buses, in the early 1990s it was re-engined (Cummins) and refurbished. It saw continual use in London into the privatisation era, passing in 1994 into the fleet of MTL London (ex-London Northern), which was bought by Metroline in 1998. After a period wearing MTL London Northern livery, by September 2000 it had been painted into the Metroline scheme of red with blue skirt. By September 2004 it was withdrawn from service, having latterly been allocated to King's Cross outstation for route 390, whereupon it was immediately bought for preservatation.
