English: The Old Ford Motor Factory in Singapore, built by Ford Motor Works in October 1941, was the first motor car assembly plant in Southeast Asia. However, Japanese forces invaded Singapore shortly thereafter, and the factory became the site of the historic surrender of the British to the Japanese on 15 February 1942, at the end of the Battle of Singapore in World War II. The remains of building were declared a national monument on the 64th anniversary of the surrender on 15 February 2006, and is presently managed by the National Archives of Singapore as an exhibition gallery and repository called Memories at Old Ford Factory.
