English: Media history is (in a general sense) the historical development of the media (especially mass media). Strictly speaking, the term refers to the study of the past of the media.
Deutsch: Mediengeschichte bezeichnet (im allgemeinen Sinn) die historische Entwicklung der Kommunikationsmittel, insbesondere der Massenmedien (Presse, Hörfunk und Fernsehen). Im engeren Sinne bezeichnet der Begriff die Erforschung der Mediengeschichte.
