Request for sitenotice
[edit]Please can an admin add a Site Notice concerning the RFC on amending Licence Policy to include "Appropriately licensed" as a condition. As this proposal restricts licence choice for new uploads, it concerns all users (though in practice, the licence choices being restricted are not widely used any more). There is already a Centralized discussion notice, and at the Village Pump/Proposals page. But I feel this should be widely advertised to allow full participation. If this is not felt appropriate, then perhaps a Watchlist notice? Something like:
- Commons is discussing a proposed change to its licence policy to include the concept of "appropriately licensed". This will affect the licence options for new uploads. Please participate in the Request for Comment.

- I chose a watchlist message because this gives the user the option to choose which type of message they want to receive. -- Rillke(q?) 21:22, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit]I wanted to see view source of the sitenotice but the software denies this and shows me the following error:

hide
[edit]Hello, good news! Thanks to FreedomFighterSparrow and Brion, unregistered users can now hide the sitenotice again. Previously, they were forced to see it continuously.
In all cases, please use the sitenotice with care, and keep in mind that occasional visitors see sitenotices on all their visits, if they visit less than once a month or they don't click "dismiss" and save a cookie. Nemo 15:43, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
