Lothian Buses: Scania OmniCity

English: Scania OmniCity (N94UD) buses operated by Lothian Buses. In June 2004, Lothian took an East Lancs bodied Scania Omnidekka (N94UD) on long term loan from Scania as a demonstrator, operating it as No. 999 (reg. SN04 CPE) in Harlequin livery. This didn't lead to a change in the company's standard double-decker specification. Subsequently however, 15 were bought for use in the airport fleet - 5 in Summer 2006, then a further 10 in Autumn 2007 (making it exclusively Scania oprated). In March 2010 they were in turn all replaced by the fourteen 10-reg B9TL / Eclipse Gemini 2's. Cascaded to the standard fleet for use on route 35, the Scanias were repainted into the Classic livery (with LothianBuses.com fleetname), which had been unveiled that month. They have remained in the fleet long enough to receive the second iteration of fleetname on the Classic livery (Lothian Buses/TfE), except No. 989, which suffered fire damage while in service on 16 May 2012 but this vehicle has since returned to service (September 2016) with standard bus seats instead of high-backed leather seats.
