Excessive color saturation

[edit]

The Musée d'Orsay image clearly shows that the painting by Signac entitled Le château des Papes is not color saturated as show in the image upload by CFCF. The current image is a closer match to the Musée d'Orsay image. Coldcreation (talk) 10:23, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

See too the colors of the painting here: Agence Photographique de la Réunion des musées nationaux et du Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées. Coldcreation (talk) 13:42, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
CFCF. Do not add saturation to images of paintings. Oil paint is not fluorescent, better not to make it so. See links above for more accurate colors. Better to have low resolution and accurate colors than high resolution and over-saturated. The current image is both high-rez and more accurate colors. No, it is you who have chosen to edit them. There is nothing to say the version you linked it correct and as I specified these images are from the Lessig art archives. I have not edited anything. If you are going to edit an image and release it under your own color scheme rather than that of the original photographer, do that under a different file name.
