Please rename the photo. It is definitely not from 1918, but was taken in 1926 the earliest: von Sternburg, Wilhelm: Joseph Roth. Eine Biographie, 1. Aufl., Köln 2010, before p. 369. The source cited here ("http://cambridgeforecast.wordpress.com/2006/09/") does not say anything about 1918!...

Thank you. Like I said, 1926 is the earliest possible date, it might also be from a later year. In von Sternburg's biography, the photo is the second out of a series of four photos called "Joseph Roth in den Jahren von 1926-1938".
