Bendor Grosvenor

In the BBC programme Britain's Lost Masterpieces, Series 2:1, broadcast on 27 September 2017, art historian Bendor Grosvenor suggests that this painting is not by Rubens, but by one of his pupils. He argues that the genuine portrait study for the lost large equestrian painting is the one from Pollock House held by the National Trust for Scotland.
