Åland

[edit]

Maybe someone who updates this map can add Åland? Now it is completely absent, as if it is non-existent. It is an autonomous part of Finland (having their own flag, own stamps, own parliament, own country code .ax, own car number plates) whose official language is Swedish. Their official currency is the (Finnish) Euro. --Erik Wannee (talk) 13:34, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gibraltar

[edit]

Gibraltar uses the Gibraltar Pound (which has equal value to the British Pound). Presumed, Gibraltar has the same opt-out as the UK, maybe Gibraltar can be marked brown on the map as well? Thanks, --Erik Wannee (talk) 13:43, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Opt outs

[edit]

I believe that there is a problem with the colouration of the map. The UK and Denmark should be the same colour, as they have the same status. Both hold opt outs of EMU, and their status should be left at that. Both could theoretically hold a referendum at some future time to get rid of their opt out. However, there is no serious prospect of that in either country in the near to medium term. Does anyone object if we change colouration to reflect that in the map, by making them both the same colour, to reflect a simple "Hold opt-outs" category? Peregrine981 contacted my on my talk page to ask my opinion. And I agree that the map should reflect the current legal situation. If we agree on the change, however, we need to make an effort to change the image description in several articles using this file as well. Gugganij (talk) 17:51, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that there are no objections, and I will gladly help to change image descriptions once the image is changed. --Peregrine981 (talk) 09:43, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
