H

[edit]

@Jeuwre: I hear the sound of [h] in your pronunciation. Is it really correct to pronounce the H as a consonant here, rather than elongating the first vowel /ɛ/?

It currently sounds [ˈnɛː.hən] rather than [ˈnɛː.ən]. --Mahmudmasri (talk) 21:46, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mahmudmasri: Hi, if you try to speak slow and articulate, the sound with the 'h' is correct. I wouldn't say it's overarticulated, it's just clear. If you speak a faster German (as I usually do because I grew up in Berlin) nobody will hear the 'h'.
We had exactly the discussion when I started producing the pronunciation examples, you could find it here: [1] (in German).
Summarizing that discussion I admit gladly, that standard pronunciation is requested. My pronunciation is with an 'h', so differs from standard. But nobody can say, it's wrong. In my opinion here we have a case with more than one option. But that's my opinion, most of the relevant German wiktionary colleagues wouldn't agree to that. --Jeuwre (talk) 22:28, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Appendix: If you need the other examples: De-nähen2.ogg, De-nähen4.ogg and De-nähen6.ogg
Well, thanks for the second example. It sounds rather how I expected. --Mahmudmasri (talk) 22:40, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
