Description A detail of 14-th century Russian fortress or kremlin plan was a corridor, called zakhab (Russian: захаб), connecting the external gates in the tower to gates in the fortress wall itself. This drawing is based on 1387 plans of Porkhov fortress, with two zakhabs in corner towers. One was outside the main wall, as shown, one inside.
