Deutsch: Über den Säulen des Altars, die Petrus und Paulus symbolisieren, sind die Wappen der Altarstifter angebracht.
Dies entspricht dem absolutistischen Verständnis des Adels. Er versteht sich als Träger, Hüter und als Säule des Glauben und des Rechts - auf Petrus, Paulus und die Evangelisten gestützt. Deshalb erscheinen zwischen Himmel und Erde oberhalb der Säulen die Wappen. Das zeigt dem Plebs deutlich, wer die Macht hat und woher sie kommt. Über dem Adel steht nur Gott. In Groß Welle muß die Familie v. Graevenitz begütert gewesen sein und das Patronat besessen haben. Das beweisen die Wappen am Altar. Links vom Betrachter befindet sich das graevenitzsche Wappen des Stifters, gekrönt von einem Dachs (Greving). |
