A black and white postcard of visitors at the edge of Halema‘uma‘u crater. In the foreground, the caldera floor is visible. The crater is in the center of the image. Toward the center of the cliff edge there is a man standing and peering into the crater. He is wearing a hat, a long-sleeved shirt, and boots. To the right of this man there is a wooden sign on a post. Closer to the far-right side of the image along the edge of the crater are seven visitors wearing dress clothing. They are not standing as close to the edge as the man by the sign and appear to be walking away from the crater. There are two captions along the bottom of the image. The one at the bottom left corner of the image reads, “’Halemaumau’ 3000 x 3500 ft. deep.” Towards the bottom right corner of the image, “Hawaii National Park.”
