Nederlands: Veldmaarschalk Montgomery ereburger van Nijmegen; Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd.; Veldmaarschalk B.L. Montgomery komt met het NATO-opleidingsschip Amiral Exelmans aan in Nijmegen, de stad waar hij in 1944 tijdens operatie Market Garden zijn hoofdkwartier had. Hij wordt begroet door burgemeester Charles Hustinx, C.G.K. Quarles van Ufford, commissaris der koningin in Gelderland, en sir Paul Mason, ambassadeur van Groot-Brittannië. In het stadhuis wordt tijdens een bijzondere raadsvergadering de gouden medaille en de oorkonde van het ere-burgerschap van de stad Nijmegen aan Montgomery uitgereikt, gevolgd door een driewerf hoera. De volgende dag brengt Montgomery een bezoek aan de Airborne begraafplaats te Oosterbeek, waar hij bij het gedenkteken een krans legt.
