Porträt Karl Otto Johann Graf von Medems (1801-1860), Sohn Kral Johann Friedrich von Medems, Neffe der Herzogin Anna Dorothea von Kurlands. Karl Medem ist als Quirl mit Porträtkopf dargestellt. Neben dem Titel "Gr. Carl Medem" und einem Vers unter dem Bild, ist der linke Rand der Zeichnung mit einem großen und einem kleinen "Q" versehen. - nachträglich mit einem Kreuz hinter Titel/Namen versehen [Bildunterschrift] Man Chocolad' mit Quirlen macht/ Und wer da weinet der nicht lacht.Biografisches Karl Otto Johann Graf von Medem (1801–1860) war der Sohn Karl Johann Friedrich von Medems (1762–1827), des jüngeren Bruders der Herzogin von Kurland. Er war Fideikommissbesitzer auf Remten, Wehsahten, Kappeln wie auch Herr auf Alt-Autz, Delsen, Behnen, Zirohlen und Alt-Zagarschen Gütern im Gouvernement Wilna in Kurland. 1822 heiratete er Elisabeth, Baronesse von Fircks (1804–1881).
