On 6 January 2024, the high pressure system over central and northern Europe made it possible for one of the Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellites to acquire this rare nearly cloud-free image of Ireland.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: In the past few days, several weather phenomena have been occurring in Europe. While record low temperatures have been recorded in Scandinavia, heavy rain has been affecting France and Germany, and Western European countries, such as Ireland, have been characterised by unusually sunny days. On 6 January 2024, the high pressure system over central and northern Europe made it possible for one of the Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellites to acquire this rare nearly cloud-free image of Ireland. The Copernicus Sentinel satellites provide a vast amount of open data that can be used to monitor the evolution and impacts of unusual or extreme weather events.
