Soldiers and Airmen unloading aid supplies from a RAF C-130. A 24 man team made up of Royal Marine Commandos, British Army Commandos, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force specialists have landed into Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. The team, led by Commanding Officer 24 Commando Royal Engineers, Lt Col Tom Salberg MBE, have met with local authorities to establish a presence on the islands in support of the Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief response by the UK Government. The team are the first UK Armed Forces personnel to reach the islands to assess and plan support in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Jose. The team, which comprises of Royal Marines and Army Commandos, Engineers and Communications specialists were flown forward by a Royal Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft and will work closely with the authorities to ensure the population have the support they need.
