Green indicates the annual Gross Domestic Product in 2008, pink indicates the total government spending in 2008, and grey indicates the various bank rescue payments up to 2008 October 13. The 700 billion dollar US bank rescue of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 does not include the additional 150 billion dollar additional provisions.
