DescriptionTyrannosaurus body length growth 01.png	English: Incomplete diagram illustrating the growth curve of the theropod dinosaur Tyrannosaurus (body length relative to age). For the moment, the curve are only based on a few specimens, but the diagram can be filled in as more specimens get their body length and age at the time of death determined. A. "Tinker", a juvenile specimen, about 5-6 years old at time of death, with a possible length of about 23 feet. B. "Jane" (BMRP 2002.4.1), about 11 years at time of death (after research of Greg Erickson), and assumed to have been about 21.5 feet. However, "Jane" have many times been assumed to be from another genus, Nanotyrannus, which is why her spot is colored yellow, as she might not be a Tyrannosaurus. C. "Sue" (FMNH PR 2081), one of the largest and most complete specimens. "Sue" is believed to have been about 19 years old when her growth stopped, and she died at an age of about 28 years, which is believed to be close to the maximum age for a Tyrannosaurus. She measures about 42 feet long (12.8 meters).
