One man in right foreground rides a light colored mount while the others mounts are dark colored. A red pen check appears above this man's head. A log building stands to the right background. The image is scratched.The reverse side shows the seal of Christian Barthlemess, photographer, Fort Keogh, Montana. There are two handwritten notes in different colored ink. The topmost, in blue ink, reads: “Sham Battle, Aug 1896”. The blue ‘9’ in 1896 has a red 7 under or above it.
