English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Celebration in Eindhoven of the second anniversary of the liberation. SHOTS: - an allegorical parade moves through the streets of Eindhoven; - relay runners carry a burning torch (liberation fire lighted in France) across rainy country roads, accompanied by a.o. cyclists; they arrive in the evening in the dark in Eindhoven; - with the torch a large flame is lit on the market; - the festive lighting in the city center is turned on; - fireworks.
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd.
Viering in Eindhoven van de tweede verjaardag van de bevrijding. SHOTS: - een allegorische optocht trekt door de straten van Eindhoven; - estafettelopers dragen hardlopend een brandende fakkel (in Frankrijk ontstoken bevrijdingsvuur) over regenachtige buitenwegen, begeleid door oa wielrenners; ze arriveren in Eindhoven 's avonds in het donker; - met de fakkel wordt op de markt een grote vlam ontstoken; - in de binnenstad gaat de feestverlichting aan; - vuurwerk. |
