Description
English: Tunnel Effect. A potential barrier: It represents the potential energy of the particle.

It produces a force to the left on the left hand side and to the right on the right hand side of the barrier. For a point particle the sum of kinetic and potential energy is conserved so that when it reaches the potential barrier the kinetic energy vanishes and the point stops. The force to the left rejects the particle.

Español: Efecto Tunel. Barrera de potencial: representa la energía potencial de la partícula. Produce una fuerza hacia la izquierda en la parte izquierda de la barrera y hacia la derecha en la parte derecha de la barrera.

Para una partícula puntual la suma de la energía cinética y potencial se conserva, de forma que cuando la partícula alcanza la barrera de potencial, su energía cinética desaparece y la partícula se para. La fuerza hacia la izquierda repele la partícula.
