AnonymousUnknown author (11 January 1923) ‘De triomf van da-da’, Voorwaarts, tweede blad, [p. 2], as ‘Alle bezoekers zaten met klein-formaat van plakbiljetten in de hand – een Dadaistisch program – waarop in een bonte warreling roode en zwarte letters, in groot en klein formaat schots en scheef door elkaar stonden, versierd met Dadaistische motieven, Da-Da-gedichten en allerlei onbegrijpelijke beelden’. AnonymousUnknown author (20 January 1923) ‘Wat is Dada?’, De Standaard, Tweede Blad, [p. 3], as ‘Het programma, dat tegen den civielen prijs van ƒ 0.20 verkocht werd, deed een beetje vreemd aan en maakte bij de eerste beschouwing den indruk vervaardigd te zijn in den tijd van de typografen-staking, door een o£ ander aankomend half was zetter, die het werk van zijn stakende collega’s had overgenomen. Want hoofdletters en gewone letters van allerlei formaat waren kris en kras door elkaar gebruikt en de meeste letters stonden scheef, soms zelfs geheel onderst boven of lagen op den rug. ’t Geheel maakte dan ook den indruk van het werk van een krankzinnige en geruimen tijd van ingespannen studie was noodig om te ontdekken, wat het programma nu eigenlijk inhield’. XVI’, Provinciale Overijsselsche en Zwolsche Courant, Vierde Blad, [p. 1], as ‘een vierkant stuk papier, ter grootte van een zakdoek, bedrukt met allerlei hieroglyphen, die men eerst bij nadere beschouwing als letters herkende, met een penseel geschilderde letters van verschillende grootte en verschillend type, zeer onregelmatig dooreengeworpen, teneinde van het geheel zooveel mogelijk een puzzle te maken; ik bedoel om aan te geven dat Dada lak heeft aan onze orde en regelmaat, aan onze geheele maatschappelijke samenleving op rails. En schots en scheef over die in pastei gevallen letterkast, zooals een typograaf of journalist zou zeggen, waren vijf groote roode stempels van het woord, den naam, de strijdkreet, Dada geplaatst’.
