Description
English: The barque 'Minero'

A portrait of the barque ‘Minero’ in full sail shown broadside-on. The barque was 478 tons and probably built in Glasgow in 1866. The name of the ship is inscribed on the starboard bow. Figures are visible on the deck and land can be seen in the distance on the right. A ship of this name was recorded as arriving in Western Australia in 1883 with 12 passengers on board.

The painting is signed ‘W.B. Spencer’.
