Description
English: The Local Government Act 1972 as amended by The Local Government (Wales) Act 1994 retains the former 8 County Council areas as “Preserved Counties” with, in some cases, modified boundaries. These operate for limited purposes concerning such matters as Lord Lieutenants and Sheriffs. Mae Deddf Llywodraeth Leol 1972 fel y'i diwygiwyd gan Ddeddf Llywodraeth Leol (Cymru) 1994 yn cadw ardaloedd yr wyth Cyngor Sir blaenorol fel “Siroedd Wedi'u Cadw” gan addasu'r ffiniau mewn rhai achosion. Mae'r rhain yn gweithredu at ddibenion cyfyngedig mewn materion megis Arglwydd Raglawiaid a Siryfion.
