SIR,--I daresay my own carelessness caused the amusing mistake in my letter of Dec. 14. Of course, I meant my hands, not my heels, were exceptionally soft and white. One reason why I wish to lay stress on the delicacy of my hands is because there is a mistaken idea with some opponents of the tight corset that it makes the hands red. My hands, in spite of my tight lace, are very lovely. The skin is as smooth as white satin, and I have soft dimples tinged with a tiny soupçon of delicate pink.

May I be allowed in your delightful paper to state that I am sure that nothing does a rough, unmannerly youth so much good as to be well corsetted under the régime of a smart girl, who will not hesitate to bestow at times sharp discipline. My young gentleman improved in a marvellous manner since I took him in hand, and put him through figure training. He has always to be near to lace my boots, fasten my bracelets, and put on or take off my gloves, &c. As I wear them frequently indoors he has to glove and unglove my hands for meals, writing, music, &c. I am very particular as to the fit of my gloves, and he has to put them on my delicate taper fingers as though they were a second skin. If he leaves a wrinkle in the kid I make his face tingle for a long time. It is quite amusing to see how afraid he is when he has to manipulate a pair of my twelve button new white kids. Some people may think I am an exacting young lady, but I am certain my régime does the boy an immense amount of good. I take great interest in corset discipline, and though I do not wish to correspond privately, I hope some day to allude to the subject again.--Yours truly,
