Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Live-cell imaging of Salmonella Typhimurium WT replication in HeLa cells at 60X magnification, showing vacuolar replication. Internalized 488-dextran was used to identify vacuolar Salmonella. Left panel shows mCherry Salmonella artificially colored to reveal both low (blue/purple) and high (yellow/white) intensity bacteria. Right panels show an overlay of mCherry Salmonella (red) and Dextran-488 (green). Compare dextran positive vacuolar bacteria to dextran negative cytosolic bacteria. Times post infection are indicated.
