...Quoique très-mutilées, les stalles de l'église de Saint-Andoche de Saulieu nous laissent voir encore des fragments intéressants. Elles sont de cinquante ans environ postérieures à celles de Notre-Dame de la Roche; elles datent par conséquent de la fin du XIIIe siècle. On voit en A (fig. 2) l'une des jouées terminales des stalles hautes, et en B, des stalles basses. Un dais composé d'un simple plafond rampant couvrait le dorsal D des stalles hautes, lequel présente de larges panneaux au-dessus de chaque siége, encadrés entre des montants avec arcature et ornements sculptés dans les écoinçons. Quelques parties de ces sculptures sur bois sont très-bien traitées...
