Summary

[edit]
Description
English: St Martin of Tours church, Barton. Another view of the prominent church near the top of Barton Hill shown in 1080018. Described by Cherry & Pevsner as "stuccoed neo-Romanesque of the 1930s". The specific dedication makes clear that this is the C4 saint who is credited with being a founder of Western monasticism, and whose feast day, 11th November, coincided with the First World War armistice. Martinmas is still widely celebrated. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_of_Tours
