English: T . brucei ILTat 1.4 swimming in mouse blood. Video recorded at 500 fps and used for single beat analyses shown in Fig 4 and Fig 6. The beginning of successive flagellar beats was identified and the corresponding position of the posterior end of the cell marked by the white lines in the video. The distance and the time period between two successive lines were measured in order to calculate the swimming speed and the flagellar beat frequency. |
