Summary
[edit]DescriptionSolar Eclipse 2024 - 22 degree halo (53646055136).jpg | 8 minutes before totality a 22° halo formed around the sun and moon. This is caused by refraction of light by hexagonal ice crystals in the high clouds. Note that the sun was already more than 90% covered by the moon, though you could not tell from this photo as it was taken with a cell phone without filters. |
